I’m Andrew Hayward, a professional Mechanical Engineer, based in Cheltenham, United Kingdom.
I have previously been employed within the product development department of car manufacturer, Aston Martin. I was mainly involved in mechanism analysis, CAD simulation and prototype design and development and reverse engineering activities.
After leaving the automotive industry I became a Knowledge Transfer Partnership Research Associate in the fields of Mechanical Design and Computational Fluid Dynamics at the University of Birmingham, working closely with an oil and gas industry pressure safety valve manufacturer.
I then moved to one of UKs leading suppliers of industrial positive displacement pumps as a project engineer, managing several multi-million pound projects. In 2013 I began my own engineering consultancy specialising in 3D modelling and mechanical design.
I have been involved in tribology research funded by the EPSRC as part of the future power systems group at Birmingham University. The focus of this was test rig design and experimentation.
